   In the
wintertime our countryside reveals its special charms. Everything is quieter and more
family-like and we would like to tempt you into enjoying this special atmosphere in our restaurant by trying our Cheese Fondue or our Fondue
Chinoise. Although everything is quieter this does not mean boredom. On the contrary:
because of the central location all the well-known ski-resorts
such as Melsee-Frutt, Engelberg/Titlis, Moerlialp, Lungern-Schoenbuehl, Glaubenberg/Langis
and Hasliberg are easily reached by car within approx. 30 minutes. Langis above Sarnen is
simply paradise for cross-country-skiing. The ski-runs in the idyllic scenery of the moor
on the Glaubenberg are professionally prepared and encourage extenisve skiing. There is
also a skilift especially for children.
 Winter in Obwalden is a time for concerts, special events and also a time for the local stage productions,
which you should not miss.
Lucerne,
which also is within easy reach, offers a wide range of entertainment
for every taste. There is the world famous "Culture-and Congresshouse" created
by the star architect Jean Nouvel, where the International Music festival weeks take place
every year. There are various theatres and other entertainments and the the Swiss Museum
of Transport and Communication which are worth visiting. Escpecially during Carneval
Lucerne experiences a special kind of charm. All the Guggenmusics turn the city into a
multi-coloured public festival. But maybe you prefer a stroll through the pedestrian zone
of Lucerne, to enjoy the sights and uncountable shops?
